Parish Prayer

We recite Our Parish Prayer together as part of the Prayer of the Faithful.
Gracious and Loving God, we gather in Your name as Stewards of this hour; to reflect, learn, give and receive.
This time belongs to You, entrusted to us to shine Christ's light on whomever we encounter; among our families and friends, colleagues and strangers; in our Church, or in a world desperate for Your Presence.

Teach us to use this Time prayerfully, with prudence, and with hearts that listen for the promptings of the Spirit.
May we return this hour to You with a fruitful account of our Stewardship,
hopeful You will find us trustworthy in the small matters, so we may be entrusted with even greater ones.

We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ Your Son, who lives and reigns with You, and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever.     Amen.
Pentecost Novena - Novena to the Holy Spirit.
(We say this in place of our Parish Prayer leading up to Pentecost)
Act of Consecration to the Holy Spirit
On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses I offer myself, soul and body to Thee, Eternal Spirit of God.
I adore the brightness of Thy purity, the unerring keenness of Thy justice, and the might of Thy love. Thou art the Strength and Light of my soul. In Thee I live and move and am. I desire never to grieve Thee by unfaithfulness to grace, and I pray with all my heart to be kept from the smallest sin against Thee.

Mercifully guard my every thought and grant that I may always watch for Thy light and listen to Thy voice and follow Thy gracious inspirations. I cling to Thee and give myself to Thee and ask Thee by Thy compassion to watch over me in my weakness. Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus and looking at His Five wounds and trusting in His Precious Blood and adoring His opened Side and stricken Heart,

I implore Thee Adorable Spirit,, helper of my infirmity, so to keep me in Thy grace that I may never sin against Thee. Give me grace O Holy Ghost, Spirit of the Father and the Son, to say to Thee always and everywhere, "Speak Lord, for Thy servant heareth." Amen.
Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit
O Lord Jesus Christ, before ascending into heaven, did promise to send the Holy Spirit to finish Your work in the souls of Your Apostles and Disciples, deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me that He may perfect in my soul, the work of Your grace and Your love.

Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom that I may despise the perishable things of this world and aspire only after things that are eternal,
the Spirit of Understanding to enlighten my mind with the light of Your divine truth,
the Spirit of Counsel that I may ever choose the surest way of pleasing God and gaining heaven,
the Spirit of Fortitude that I may bear my cross with You and that I may overcome with courage all the obstacles that oppose my salvation,
the Spirit of Knowledge that I may know God and know myself and grow perfect in the science of the Saints,
the Spirit of Piety that I may find the service of God sweet and amiable,
and the Spirit of Fear that I may be filled with the loving reverence towards God and may dread in any way to displease Him.
Mark me, dear Lord with the sign of Your true disciples, and animate me in all things with Your Spirit. Amen.
Prayer for the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy
Lord Jesus Christ,
you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved.
Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant thief.

Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: "If you knew the gift of God!"
You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified.
You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God.

Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed and restore sight to the blind.
We ask this of you, Lord Jesus, through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy; you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever.
Prayer for the Conversion of England (said during May)
O Blessed Mary, Mother of God and our most gentle Queen and Mother, look down in mercy upon England, thy 'Dowry', and upon us all who greatly hope and trust in thee.

By thee it was that Jesus, our Saviour and our hope was given unto the world; and He has given thee to us that we may hope still more.
Plead for us thy children, whom thou didst receive and accept at the foot of the cross, O sorrowful Mother! Intercede for our separated brethren, that with us in the one true fold they may be united to the chief Shepherd, the Vicar of thy Son.

Pray for us all, dear Mother that by faith fruitful in good works we may all deserve to see and praise God, together with thee, in our heavenly home. Amen.
During the Month of June which is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus; we Pray:
Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I implore the grace to love you daily, more and more.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I implore the grace to love you daily, more and more.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I implore the grace to love you daily, more and more.
Jesus convert England, Jesus have mercy on this country.
During the Month of November, we recite the Prayer for Holy Souls:
Out of the depths, I cry to you, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
O let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleading.

If you, O Lord, should mark or guilt,
Lord, who would survive?
But with you is found forgiveness;
for this we revere you.

My soul is waiting for the Lord,
I count on his word.
My soul is longing for the Lord,
more than the watchmen on daybreak.
Let the watchmen count on daybreak
and Israel on the Lord.

Because with the Lord there is mercy,
and fullness of redemption;
Israel he will redeem
from all its iniquity.

V/ Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord.
R/ And let perpetual light shine on them.
V/ May they rest in peace.
R/ Amen.

Let us pray:
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful,
grant to the souls of your servants departed the remission of all their sins,
that through our pious supplication
they may obtain that pardon which they have always desired;
who live and reign for ever and ever.
R/ Amen.
